A terrific results for our Women’s team at Cumbernauld  to finish 2nd.

Despite the non availability of Olympic hopefuls Hayley and Kerry Lang, the girls put in an outstanding performance to finish in second place.

Claire Gibson was the only remaining member of last year's winning team and she produced the fastest short lap of the day to give Kilbarchan the initial lead. Hannah Waugh on the second (long) leg, worked hard and did well to keep the team in contention, finishing in 3rd place and Elspeth Curran on the third (short) leg, ran the 4th fastest short lap to pull the team up to 2nd again. Leanne Hamilton on the last (long) leg, chased the leader and closed the gap significantly, finishing the team in a clear 2nd place, which was a fine performance.

It is just not a lucky event for the Men, 4th for the 4th successive year, in fact they have finished 4th in 7 of the last 11 years.
