Saturday 9 & Sunday 10 February 2008 - Scottish Age Group Indoor Championships at Kelvin Hall.... 

The busy Indoor season continued with the Scottish Age Group Championships at the Kelvin Hall at the weekend and there were a number of successes for Kilbarchan athletes..

Andrew Cunningham continued his recent fine form by winning the under 15 boys Shot title with a powerful 12.25metres and also showed his versatility by winning Silver in the Long Jump with a leap of 5.25m.

Cameron Clark is another who has shown progress over the winter and a Personal Best in the under 20s Triple Jump of 13.94m, won the Gold Medal. Cameron was also very close to his best in the Long Jump , winning Bronze with 6.55m.

Jack Lochans has also progressed a lot over the last few months and Jack won 2 Championship Silvers in the under 15s age group, a PB of 1.66m in the High Jump and 9.63s in the 60m Hurdles, another PB.

Jamie Milton won Silver in the under 17s 60m Hurdles, smashing his own club record with a time of 8.68s. It was also a Silver Medal for Holy Belch, just outside her best, with a time of 9.32s for the under 20 womens 60m Hurdles and Hazel Blair won Silver in the under 20s High Jump with a clearance of 1.60m.

In the under 17 Mens Shot, Andrew McLaughlan, just couldn’t get everything to work together and had to be content with the Silver Medal with a putt of 12.99m. There was a Bronze medal for Hazel Ross, who continues to improve as a Hurdler, time for the under 15 girls 60m Hurdles was a PB of 9.48s and there was also Bronze for Lauren Boyd who travelled up from Corby to finish with 2 fourth places and a Bronze in the under 20 womens with a fine 10.81m effort.
