| Andrew Cunningham was in good form, competing for Scotland at Stoke at the weekend, in the Home International Decathlon competition. The 15year old from Bridge of Weir, a member of Kilbarchan Athletic Club, set a club best points total of 4853 points. This included 2 personal best individual performances, the 100metres in 12.03 seconds and the Javelin with a throw of 42.57 metres.
In Glasgow at the weekend, the streets were thronged with runners, with the 3K Fun Run on Saturday and on the Sunday, the 10K and ½ marathon both of which attracted International competition.. Around 20 thousand runners were on the streets on Sunday, including a large number of local athletes and there were some excellent performances. Chris Devenney continued his return to fitness with a good 8th place in the 10K, time 34.25 and in the ½ marathon, veteran athlete Tom Hearle showed fine firm to finish in 72.47, with Leanne Hamilton 6th, 4th Brit, in the Women's race., time 82.67.
Thomas McDonald was 5th in the 3K Fun Run in 9.50 and Elaine Eadie 6th in the Girls 3K in 11.58.
