Press Releases - Monday 30 March 2009

A superb run from Kilbarchan’s Derek Hawkins, to win the under 20s race at the Home International Cross Country Championship at Bangor in Wales at the weekend. Derek has finished the winter season in tremendous form, having won the Scottish under 20s title 4 weeks ago and he was followed home by young brother Callum who was actually the winner on the under 19s race in the Schools International which was run in conjunction with the under 20s race. This was another splendid run from Callum, who has recently won the Scottish under 17s and also the Scottish Schools Cross Country titles.

In the International Senior race, Conor McNulty had another excellent run to finish 6th and second Scot and in the under 19 girls Schools International, Natalie Sharo ran well to finish in 6th place and second Scot..

Elsewhere, Tom Hearle had a good run to finish 2nd in the weekly 5K run at Pollok Park.

This coming weekend, the Kilbarchan club will be looking for medal finishes in the National Road Relay Championships at Livingston.
