| Kilbarchan athletes put in some good performances at the weekend at different venues. On Saturday, the Glasgow University 5ml Road race was staged from Garscube Estate and Leanne Hamilton continued her recent good form when she finished 2nd in the Women's race while in the Men's race, Conor McNulty was 3rd and Ross Toole 5th out of around 300 starters.
On Sunday there were cross country races at Kilmarnock, renowned as being one of the toughest courses around. Christina Rankin was a clear winner of the Women's race over 4 miles and there was double success in the under 15 age group. Jenny Eadie had an outstanding run to win the girls race by a distance and in the boys event, Ross Heggie also produced a superb performance to give a convincing victory. Scott McLardie won the under 11 boys race from team mate David Collins and along with Euan McKerral, won the team race. The under 13 boys were also team winners with a trio of Chris McStay, Euan Gillham and Callum Matthews.
