A number of the younger athletes
from Kilbarchan Athletic Club were invited to compete at the Celtic Games in
Aberdeen at the weekend, in under 16 and under 18 age groups, competing
against athletes from Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland.
Windy conditions and the tactical races meant no outstanding times and best
placed was Gavin McArdle, 2nd in the under 16 boys 1500m in 4 minutes
5,30seconds with Euan Gillham 4th in a Personal Best on 4.06.35 while in the
under 18s event, Callum Matthews was 3rd.
Kilbarchan had 3 girls in the under 16s 800m, with Jemma Reekie 3rd in 2.30.
31, just ahead of Sarah Dempsey, with Kerry MacAngus 7th.. In the under 16
girls Sprint Hurdles, Victoria Cleer was 4th in a Personal Best of 12.88
seconds. ..
This weekend, the final Division One meeting of the Central and South f
Scotland League is at Scotstoun. This league has events for all age groups
and the Kilbarchan club are confident of confirming their Division One
status ..
