Hayley Haining continued her return to form last weekend when she won the Women's race at the Musselburgh 10K Road Race in a time of 35 minutes 1 second, finishing 150 metres ahead of Kilbarchan clubmate Gemma Rankin who ran impressively to finish in 35 minutes 36 seconds.
Also from the Kilbarchan club, Derek Hawkins was in fine form, winning the Irvine 5mile Road Race in 24 minutes 12 seconds while Donald Petrie won the over 50s award, time 29 minutes 50 seconds.


On the track, Claire Gibson ran a seasons best for the 800 metres at the Solihull British Milers Club meeting, time 2.03.26.
Also on the track, 5 local athletes represented the Scottish Schools at the British Schools International at Ashford in Kent at the weekend. Best placed was Gavin McArdle (Gleniffer HS), 4th in the 1500m in 4 minutes 01.23 seconds, with Callum Matthews (Castlehead HS), 6th in 4.02.90, both times personal bests. Euan Gillham and Gwen Gillham (Gryffe HS), were both 6th in their respective 3000m races and Sarah Dempsey (Gleniffer HS), 8th in the 800m.


More locally, at the Open Graded Meeting at Linwood, despite heavy rain washing out the sprints, the middle distance events went ahead with a number of Personal Best performances, including Kerry MacAngus in the 1500m, 4.48.18, a club under 15 girls club record ..
