Web site is now running again - not sure what happened for the past day or two!

Club Relay Race was postponed today - conditions too difficult to run and to get to and from Kilbarchan.

Hopefully Marshall Moor Race will go ahead tomorrow (Sunday 27th December 2009).

Update on Derek Parker .....

You may have heard that Derek was taken into hospital (RAH) yesterday after not feeling too well for a few days. Derek has fluid on his lungs which is now being drained. He hopes to be out by the end of the weekend but it depends on how things go. Derek is now in Ward 8.

Derek would like to thank everyone for their support and best wishes. He is feeling a lot better now and still coordinating his athlete's training programmes.

Some new kit for Christmas

Donna Matthews has been working hard providing some new kit for the Club.

At the moment there are Hoodies and hats.

Hoodies cost £25 for adult sizes and £15 for children which includes your name on the back.

Donna is working on a club badge for the front as well which will cost a further £3 if required.

Hats are £5

If you would like to buy anything please contact Donna (donna@matthewscleaning.co.uk)

Please note you will need to pay in advance and you must be a fully paid up member of the club to buy any club kit.

Wednesday 23 December 2009

Virgin London Marathon Places

As a Club we have 3 places this year. These go to those who are paid up club members who have applied for a place and been rejected. If there are more than 3 then we will hold a draw on 31 December 2009.

At the moment I'm aware of two members (Lesley McKerral and Gordon Allison) who would like a place.

Is there anyone else?  If not is there anyone else who would like the remaining place? If there are more than 1 then we will hold a draw.

Please contact John Kynaston (0141 884 8282 of jkynaston00@hotmail.com)

Monday 21 December 2009

The Christmas Handicap Race was postponed tonight. The pavements were far too slippy to run safely.

The race will be rescheduled for another day!

Sunday 20 December 2009

Thank you to those who took the time to fill in our questionnaire about NEW KIT.

We only had 20 replies so it's hard to get an accurate feeling of all our club members.

Here is a summary of the answers

There is some new kit coming starting with the black Hoodies that Donna Matthews is organising. There are also two different types of hats available. More details will appear on this web site soon.

As a committee we will continue to discuss this issue so please pass on your thoughts and ideas.

We are getting all high tech now with our Monday night Fartlek session.

I have been putting the sessions on this web site for the past two years and I've heard from various folks that it is helpful. Now Michael has suggested we put the session on the Forum on Sunday so folks know what is coming on Monday.

Then Richard Beall suggested we post the Garmin file so those with Garmins can download it on to their watch all ready to go.  I have done that on  my garmin 205 with tomorrow's night session and it worked a treat.

So here are the A and B sessions on a garmin file for Monday night

Session A - 30mins

Session B - 25mins

(note - if you want to use the above files then you need to right click on the session, then click on 'Save Target as ..'

create a folder to put it in and then change the .xml to .tcx then you can download it into your garmin with the Garmin training centre.)
