| Kerry Lang, one of Britain's top triathletes, won the Women's title at the Paisley 10K which attracted over 1000 entries on Sunday, in a fast 34 minutes 41 seconds, leading Kilbarchan Athletic Club to victory in the team event. Other Kilbarchan team counters were Leanne Hamilton who was 5th in 37.23 and Christina Rankin 11th in 39.50. Christina was also 1st in the under 20 category.
Alan Adams of Shettleston Harriers won the men's race in 30 minutes 3 seconds with Kilbarchan's Paul Arcari 3rd in 30.29. Shettleston also won the team event from Kilbarchan whose other counting runners were John McMillan 9th in 34.24 and Donald Petrie 14th in 34.56. Donald also won the over 50s category and Robin Scott was 1st in the over 60s age group, in 39.31.
Elaine Eadie (Hutchesons) won the Secondary Girls award in the 3K Fun Run, time 12 minutes 26 seconds, with Kirsten MacIntosh 2nd and Emma Haddock (St Andrews) third. Thomas McDonald (Trinity) was 1st Secondary boy in 10.38 with Neil Gourley and Jonny Tweedie 2nd and third.. Euan Gillham (Bridge of Weir) was 1st Primary boy, remarkably 6th overall in 11.37, second was Rob Gourley (Merylee) and 3rd Liam Turner (Victoria Park). First Primary girl was Jill Cherry (Motherwell) in 13.17, second Gwen Gillham (Bridge of Weir) and third Robin Connelly (Victoria Park).
