| Kilbarchan Athletic Club Ladies were on top form at Livingston at the weekend retaining their National Relay title when they won the Scottish 4 stage Road Relay Championship in convincing style. The quartet of Claire Gibson, Kerry Lang, Elspeth Curran and Leanne Hamilton completed the course in 1 hour 45 minutes, 28 seconds, winning by 2 minutes from Edinburgh Athletic Club, with Central AC third. The time also 2 minutes faster than their winning time last year by the same 4 girls. The Kilbarchan club now has the remarkable record of 1st, 2nd, 1st and 1st over the last 4 years.
The Kilbarchan men's team, competing in their National 6 stage event, just missed team medals again, finishing 4th. The team included Scott MacAulay, Ross Toole, Scott Hawkins, Callum Hawkins, Robert Quinn and Paul Leck and the time of 2 hours 17 minutes 53 seconds, 3 minutes behind winners Shettleston Harriers, with Central AC 2nd and Inverclyde AC 3rd. Fourth in this National event is a good effort but continues a disappointing series, for the last 6 years, 4th every year.
The Kilbarchan B team of Jim Ogilvie, David Macintosh, Chris McGlennon, Andrew Clugston, Scott Craig and Stevie Hards finished 38th.
