| Andrew Cunningham from Bridge of Weir, just missed a medal at the England Athletics Indoor Heptathlon Championships at Sheffield at the weekend. The 16 year old who attends Gryffe High School, produced some fine performances, including one Kilbarchan club record with a 2.91metres clearance in the Pole Vault.
There was also a personal best High Jump clearance of 1.56m and equalled his best for the 60metres with 7.73 seconds. Other performances were Long Jump 5.70m, Shot 12.24m, 60m Hurdles 9.64s and 1000m 3.11.08 which altogether gave him a total score of 3724 points.
This coming weekend, The Scottish Schools Cross Country Championships are at Irvine Beach Park on the Saturday and the Scottish Indoor League Finals are Sunday at the Kelvin Hall.
